So let me guess…you’re reading this article because you’re a Christian who wants to add more enriching activities and experiences to your life.

And you probably want to be more intentional about living out this Christian walk. Well, if that’s you, you’re in the right place because I have compiled a list of 27 things you can do.

This is a Christian Bucket List so I’m assuming that you’re already a Christian. And that means that you have already completed the most important thing that any bucket list could have….and that’s accepting Jesus Christ as your Savior.

I want you to keep in mind that going to church or growing up in a Christian home does not make you a Christian. If you want to be a Christian, you have to believe that Jesus Christ died for your sins and then accept His FREE gift of eternal life.

Would you like to be forgiven of your sins and accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior?

If you said yes, say this prayer:

Dear God,

I admit that I am a sinner. I believe that Jesus died for my sins and that You raised Him from the dead. Forgive me of all my sins; come into my heart today and live forever. Give me a home in Heaven when I die. Help me to obey you. Amen.

Now that you have accepted Jesus Christ as your Savior, let’s look at some bucket list ideas that you can do on your Christian journey.

27 Christian Bucket List Ideas

Here are 27 bucket list ideas that can help you to create your personalized bucket list.

Make sure the things on your list are things that you actually want to do. It makes no sense to check off all the things on your bucket list if you never wanted to do any of them.

1) Read the entire Bible

So the first thing on the Christian Bucket List is to read through the entire Bible.

The Bible is the book that guides the Christian faith so if you’re a Christian, you definitely need to know what’s written there.

How can you say you believe the Bible if you don’t know what’s written in there?

I highly recommend that you get a translation that is easy to read. Some versions that are easy to read are:

  • New King James Version (NKJV)
  • Amplified Version (AMP)
  • New International Version (NIV)
  • New Living Translation (NLT)

2) Go on a date with Jesus

Typically, we go on dates to get to know a person better, right? So why not go on a date with Jesus?

A date with Jesus is similar to having quiet time with Him. The difference is that you will do something out of the ordinary and you may spend more time with Him.

So you may choose to get dressed up and have your quiet time at a different location. This could be at a park, a restaurant, the beach or at a picnic in your backyard.

During that time, you can read the Bible, so a Bible Study, prayer journal or just talk to Him out loud.

3) Feed a homeless person

Suppose a brother or a sister is without clothes and daily food. If one of you says to them, “Go in peace; keep warm and well fed,” but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it? (James 2:15-16 NIV)

As Christians, we have to demonstrate our love for others. It’s not enough to just say we love people.

And one of the ways you can show love to someone is to feed them. Homeless people tend to struggle to find their next meal so they will greatly appreciate receiving a meal from you.

You can also give a meal to anyone else who you know is struggling to find their next meal.

4) Pray for someone

Offer to pray for someone who needs God’s help.

5) Complete a 21-day gratitude challenge

Have you ever wondered what God’s will is? Well, did you know that it’s God’s will for us to give thanks in all circumstances? That’s what it says in 1 Thessalonians 5:18.

Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus (1 Thessalonians 5:18).

A gratitude challenge is a great way to develop the habit of giving thanks. This will also help you to have a more positive mindset.

6) Study a book in the Bible

I have realized that when I study the Bible, I learn so much more. It also helps me to apply the Word so I can experience its transforming power.

So take some time to study a book in the Bible. You can choose a short book and then apply the lessons. You can even share the lessons with your family, friends, church or social media circle.

Here are some short books you can study:

  • Ruth
  • Titus
  • Jonah
  • 2 John
  • 3 John
  • Esther – This is not short but it’s really good

7) Create a Christian music playlist

Do you like to listen to music? Why not compile all your favorite songs in a playlist that you can listen to anytime?

If you have a Google account, you can create a playlist on YouTube. And while creating the playlist you get to choose if it will be public or private.

8) Get 7-9 hours of sleep for one week

Did you know that a good night’s rest can help to improve your mood, health and productivity?

It can also help to lower your risk for certain diseases and disorders?

So sleep is very important. If you haven’t been getting sufficient sleep, then this bucket list idea is definitely for you.

Allow your body to get 7-9 hours of sleep for an entire week and take notice of the difference.

9) Share the gospel with an unbeliever

Do you realize that you’re a Christian because someone shared the good news of salvation with you?

You may have heard this message of salvation at church, from your parents or on a TV programme. Regardless of the medium, you heard it because someone shared the message.

There are many other people who have not heard the good news because no one shared the message with them.

You can start sharing the good news of salvation with every unbeliever that you meet.

In Romans 10:13-15, Paul tells us:

for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!”

10) Pray for believers who are being persecuted because of their faith

In Ephesians 6, Paul encourages us to pray for all believers at all times. There are some Christians who are facing persecution because they choose to profess their faith in Christ.

If you’re a Christian in the Western Hemisphere, you may not have first hand experience of this type of persecution. But Christians in Africa and Asia tend to experience it.

You can pray for their comfort and strength as they are attacked and discriminated against because of their belief in Jesus Christ.

11) Memorize your 5 favorite Bible verses

Reading the Bible is great but sometimes we forget what we read. And that’s why memorizing Scripture can be so helpful.

When you take the time to memorize your favorite Bible verses, the Holy Spirit will bring them back to memory when you need them the most.

And you will get the comfort, peace, reassurance, guidance and correction that you need even if you don’t have access to your Bible.

So think about the Bible verses that resonate with you as well as the ones that you make regular reference to and memorize them.

12) Volunteer at a children’s home or nursing home

The persons at children’s homes and nursing homes tend to be people who don’t have a lot of support from their families.

You can visit them, share the love of God and also help and encourage them. You can choose to visit them once or on a regular basis.

13) Read a Christian devotional

I always recommend that Christians read the Bible as their first choice of reading material.

But you can also read a Christian devotional during your quiet time with God. It can help you to grow spiritually and understand Scripture in a deeper way.

It can also strengthen your faith as you read testimonies of how God has shown up in other people’s lives.

I highly recommend that you still read your Bible even if you have a Christian devotional. I want you to make sure you’re including good chunks of the Word of God in your spiritual diet.

14) Forgive those who have hurt you

Take some time to forgive those who have hurt you. Forgiveness doesn’t mean that what the person did was okay. It just means that you choose to let go of the anger, bitterness and hurt.

This can also help you to heal and fully enjoy life.

If it’s difficult, ask God to help you to forgive the person(s). Ask Him to help you to have a new perspective.

15) Do a social media fast

You have probably heard about praying and fasting from food. But have you ever considered praying and fasting from Social Media?

Social media tends to take up a lot of our time daily. And it can also negatively affect your mental health.

So why not take a break from social media so you can spend that time:

  • Reading the Word
  • Studying the Word
  • Praying
  • Prayer journaling
  • Sitting in silence with God
  • Spending face to face time with other believers
  • Serving others
  • Using your spiritual gifts
  • Evangelizing

You can take a break for a day or a week or even a month. And then use that time to grow your relationship with God and focus on more meaningful things in your life.

16) Keep a record of answered prayers

Keeping a record of answered prayers is a great way to strengthen your faith. And when you share those testimonies of answered prayers, it can encourage others to put their trust in God.

You can get a simple notebook and start writing down all the ways that God has showed up in your life.

17) Try a plant-based diet for 7 days

I included this idea on the bucket list because it is a great way to get more plant-based foods like fruits and vegetables in your diet.

A plant-based diet is similar to that of vegans. This diet is similar to the Daniel Fast Diet. Some of the foods you can eat on this 7-day challenge is:

  • Fruits
  • Vegetables
  • Peas and beans
  • Nuts and seeds
  • Potatoes
  • Yam
  • Rice
  • Oats

Some of the foods to avoid include:

  • Chicken
  • Fish
  • Beef
  • Goat
  • Pork
  • Eggs
  • Milk

18) Read a Christian book

There are many benefits of reading Christian books. It can help to strengthen your faith and get a better understanding of Scripture.

It can also help you to apply Biblical teachings to specific areas of your life such as evangelism, leadership, prayer life, career and relationships.

So if there is an area that you want to grow in, then find a Christian book that can help you to apply Biblical principles. The words in brackets describe the area of life that the book can help you with.

Here are some Christian books that you can read:

19) Donate to a Charity, Ministry or someone in need

Charities and ministries are often established to serve others and to meet their needs. These entities are doing good deeds in society.

But they need funds to continue buying the things that are essential for feeding, clothing, sheltering and providing care for others.

They also need funds to cover their expenses including their utility and transportation cost so they can keep operating.

When you make a donation, you’re helping to serve the needs of others and you’re making a difference.

You can also choose to donate directly to someone who is in need.

And remember you don’t have to wait until you have hundreds of dollars. Give what you have.

20) Identify your spiritual gifts and use them

If you’re a Christian, you have at least 1 spiritual gift. And that gift was given to you to help build up the body of Christ.

So take some time to identify your spiritual gift and use it to serve others. You can use your gift to help the church, orphans, the elderly, the sick, prisoners, a neighbor or a friend.

If you’re not sure what your gift is, you can do a spiritual gift test. Here are some of the spiritual gifts listed in the Bible:

  • Exhortation
  • Giving
  • Serving
  • Prophecy
  • Mercy
  • Teaching
  • Leading
  • Administration
  • Word of Wisdom
  • Word of Knowledge

21) Complete a 30-day fitness challenge

When was the last time you exercised? Did you know that exercise can help to improve your mood, health, productivity, self-esteem and sleep?

There are so many benefits of exercise and you can start enjoying them by doing a 30-day fitness challenge.

You can search for “30-day fitness challenge” on Google or YouTube and find one that works best for you.

Or you can choose to do any work out for 30 days with rest days in between. It can even be as simple as walking for 30 minutes or jogging for 15 minutes.

22) Break an addiction or bad habit

Do you have an addiction or bad habit? Think about the ways that this habit has been affecting your life.

  • Alcohol abuse

  • Video game addiction
  • Sex addiction / pornography
  • Emotional eating

23) Invite a friend to church

Do you have a friend who is not a Christian? Why not invite him/her to your church?

24) Do a random act of kindness for someone

We live in a world that focuses a lot on self. There is a lot of talk about self-love and self-care. Those are good things but we also need to remember to focus on others.

We are also here to help others. So think about how you can help someone today. You can help a family member, friend or complete stranger.

25) Donate clothes to a homeless person

Whenever I think about persons who need clothes, I remember these Bible verse:

I needed clothes and you clothed me (Matthew 25:36a NIV).

Suppose a brother or a sister is without clothes and daily food. If one of you says to them, “Go in peace; keep warm and well fed,” but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it? (James 2:15-16 NIV)

If you know someone who need clothes, you can donate your clothes to the person or to a shelter.

You can even purchase an outfit for a homeless person who has been wearing the same outfit for days or weeks.

26) Start a vegetable garden

Starting a vegetable garden is a great way to have easy access to fresh, healthy food.

When you plant your own food, you will know for sure that it wasn’t sprayed with any harmful chemicals.

It also gives you a good feeling and sense of accomplishment that you can provide food for yourself, family and even your neighbors.

27) Share your testimony with someone

Has the Lord changed your life in any way or has He answered any of your prayers?

Well, that’s your testimony or experience of God working in your life. Share that story with someone who needs encouragement or reassurance that God exists and He cares about us.

Takeaway

I hope this list was helpful and that as you incorporate these activities into your life, it will be more enriching and fulfilling.

This list is great if you want to create a Christian Girl Bucket List or if you’re just looking for Christian activities for adults.
