There are several ways that you can have quiet time with the Lord. However, the main ways tend to be:
- Reading the Bible

When you read the Bible, God reveals Himself and His will to you. And when you pray, you get the awesome opportunity and privilege to talk to God the universe. You can also sit still in His presence and pay attention to what He reveals to you.
When you spend time with God, you’re actually following the example of Jesus.
Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed.
-Mark 1:35-37

Bible Verses About Spending Time With God
I know life can get really busy and there are so many distractions. But your relationship with God is the most valuable relationship so you have to make time to cultivate it. You have to be intentional.
If you want to learn about cultivating that relationship with God, the best place to look for guidance is in the Scriptures. Let’s look at some verses together.
I have decided to separate the Bible verses into two main categories:
- Bible verses that help you to realize the benefits of spending time with God
- Bible verses that help you to see how you can spend time with God
Please note that all the Bible verses listed in this blog post are taken from the New International Version (NIV).
I want you to remember that spending time with God often looks like praying and reading the Bible. So you may not see Bible verses that have the literal phrase: “spending time with God”.
Instead some Bible verses will make reference to:
