Have you noticed that our brains tend to remember negative things easily?

Sometimes it can be really discouraging.

It’s hard to be positive and optimistic if you’re consuming negative content.

That’s why it’s important to make sure you’re thinking about things that are true, lovely and admirable.

In Philippians 4:8 (NLT), Paul encourages us to do exactly that. Look at what he says:

And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.

God wants us to think about things that are:

  • True
  • Honorable
  • Right
  • Pure
  • Lovely
  • Admirable
  • Excellent
  • Worthy of praise

That’s actually a command in the Bible. So how can you train your mind to think about things that fit the Philippians 4:8 criteria?

You have to renew your mind with the Word of God. The Word of God is true, honorable, right, pure, lovely, admirable and excellent.

And you can renew your mind with the Word of God by repeating Biblical affirmations daily.

You will see the most transformation when you repeat them daily so try to form a habit of repeating them daily.

If you have a morning routine, you can add this step to it. If you don’t have a morning routine, then you can create one and add this to it.

You can also repeat them on your way to school or work until you know them.
